If you questioned: Is My 20 Dollar Travel Business a scam, then you are in the right place to get your answer.
Nowadays is hard to determine if a company is legit and worth trying to make money from it. So I’m glad that you are doing your own research and trying to find a solution to your problems.
So, let me congratulate you on this and tell you that this is a good way to avoid scams and find a legit way to create income online.
My 20 Dollar Travel Business Review Summary
My 20 Dollar Travel Business is an MLM in the travel niche. It offers discounts for different things such as hotels, rental cars, etc. The founder Steve Gresham also had a similar business model called My 1 Dollar Travel Business, which collapsed after a few years. Although this MLM is not expensive, it focuses a lot on recruiting others instead of selling products, and non-members can’t access the discount travels. For this reason, I don’t recommend it.
To be completely transparent with you, let me inform you that I’m not an affiliate of My 20 Dollar Travel Business in any way.
With that said, let’s start with the review…
What Is My 20 Dollar Travel Business
My Dollar Travel Business is somewhat new in the field of MLM business.
As you can understand from the name, it operates in the travel niche, and people can either get discounts while the travel (we will see the products later on), but most importantly, people can make money from this business model by promoting and recruiting others to do the same.
The truth is that MLM systems are very similar. For example, if we see 10 companies that have an MLM background or compensation plan, the similarities will be huge.
The bad thing with MLM’s is that ones the recruiting thing dries…guess what? The money will go down.
My 20 Dollar Travel Business founded by Steve Gresham, who was the owner of My 1 Dollar Travel Business, and that business collapsed after a few years.
How My 20 Dollar Travel Business Works
In this section, we will see how the system works, and we will go in-depth at what they actually do.
So, you see the company, and you want to join. When you join, you will get access to a travel portal, which basically has cheaper rates for services like hotels, resorts, etc. They claim to have cheaper rates of up to 90%.
Another thing that is important for me to mention here is that the company doesn’t have any retail products for you to sell, and that means that you can only make money by recruiting.
The products you will see from the Travel Portal are:
Think of ‘My 20 Dollar Travel Business’ as a booking engine to go on vacation. Yeah, I believe that’s a good way to explain it in one sentence.
I have to clarify here that while the company basically offers travel discounts, it has nothing to do with the MLM system. That’s a different part that the company offers you.
Lastly, If you try to do your research and get discounts without joining them, you won’t find anything since the only way to get the discount is through this search engine, which is not available in public.
The first level is $1. You can access the platform for only $1, but the downside is that you don’t have any access to the travel savings, as they mention.
The $1 will last for a month; after this, you will have to upgrade to the next membership (level), which is the Gold membership, and it will cost you $20/month.
Basically, with that membership, you have access to everything. If you need some further info to think, the $1 membership as a trial and the Gold membership as the official payment.
The next and last level is the Platinum membership, and it cost $100 per month.
The difference between Gold and Platinum is that Platinum will give you the change to make more money. (Better commissions)
My 20 Dollar Travel Business Compensation Plan
If you are still here and reading this review, let me tell you this. This is the heart of the system and the most important reason for the company to exist.
Everything with this site has to do with the recruiting, which basically means if you signup someone under you, you make money. Simple as that.
The commissions look like this.
For every member that joins at the $1 membership, you will receive $0.5.
For every member that joins at the $20 membership, you will receive $10.
For every member that joins at the $100 membership, you will receive $50.
Please keep in mind that in order to get the $10 or $50 dollar, you have been at least in the Gold membership.
If your question is something like: Will I receive my commissions? Let me tell you this.
I believe that they will pay your commissions because this is the main income source of the platform, and I’m very sure that they want to pay its members and make more money. (Does that make sense?)
Remember this, you put the effort to make $20-$50, and that means that the company receives the other half without doing anything, so yeah, I believe they will pay the commissions.
The compensation plan also includes
Fast Start Commissions – is the commission that you will receive, as I explained above. You basically receive 50% for every person that you recruit.
If you want my opinion on that, let me tell you that 50% of commissions are rare to find.
Residual Commissions on Members (under you) – That means that the company will reward you for every member that continues to pay its membership
. You earn 25 cents for every member that is at the 1st level and starting on their 2nd month. Gold members will earn you $5 and Platinum $25. The conditions are the same — every person you personally recruited start on their 2nd month.
And as you probably understood, the reward bonus is 20%.
This is when it starts to look like a pyramid scheme to me. This is something that FTC doesn’t like based on my experience and the research I’ve made.
Let me show you what I mean.
No matter if you have the Gold or Platinum membership, the payout structure looks like this. The matrix goes up to level 10.
It looks like this.
The 1st level splits into 2 positions (legs) left and right.
The 2nd level is up to 4 positions.
The 3rd level is 8 positions, and it goes on and on until the 10th level, which ends with 1,024 positions, and as a Gold member, you can earn $1,024 and Platinum members $5,120.
If you are at the Gold level and fill the positions, you can earn up to $2,054 per month if all the members you recruited are Gold levels too.
The same thing applies to the Platinum level. If all the members you recruited are Platinum, you can earn $10,270 per month.
Of course, this is just a fixed number because you have to understand that not everyone will be Gold or Platinum.
Some members might be Gold; others might be Platinum.
The Owners Of My 20 Dollar Travel Business
I always like to know who runs the business, and this is why I always do my research and provide you the best info I could find.
It’s very important to know the owner and the background he has because this will help you understand the company better and how this company actually works.
After some research, I didn’t find any written information about who owns and founded the company.
Although when you see the front page of My 20 Dollar Travel Business, a guy named Steve Gresham is the one that presents the company.
Steve Gresham was also the Owner of My Savings Highway, and later, the company changed the name to My 1 Dollar Business back in 2012.
It looks like My 1 Dollar Business rebooted to My 20 Dollar Business.
After some extra research, I found out that indeed, this guy is the Owner of this company.
You can see the video here…
The company My 20 Dollar Travel Business launched in May 2019. The previous My 1 Dollar Business collapsed after a few years.
Let’s proceed to the next section and compare the Pros & Cons.
GOOD VS BAD
- Resources and training to help you make money.
- It’s not expensive to join.
- Free website when you join.
- No retail Products To Sell.
- Looks Like A Pyramid Scheme.
- Not BBB Accredited.
Who My 20 Dollar Travel Business Meant For (And Not For)
Ok, I usually recommend people to join or not in this section. Based on my research, the simple facts that you’ve read here and my beliefs, I won’t recommend you to join this business.
With that said, I would recommend you to give more time to this business, see how it goes (because it’s fairly new and I don’t think that owner will make the same mistakes again) and if you see that they are safe or they added retail products give it a shot.
Lastly, I would recommend you find something that doesn’t focus so hard on recruiting because most people that join MLM programs fail.
I will tell you more about this later.
Ugly Truths Revealed
1. Not BBB Accredited!
In my opinion, when I see a company that is BBB accredited, it makes me feel safer.
That doesn’t mean that the company is a scam, but that’s definitely a red flag for me.
Maybe it is because the company is still new and it takes some time, maybe not.
I believe that only time will tell and show us the truth.
2. Looks Like A Pyramid Scheme!
You will see what’s the difference between a pyramid scheme/Ponzi scheme and an actual MLM company.
In fact, if you’ve head about Amway you can even be an independent business owner.
That means that the company can make money by selling the products, and the same applies to their distributors.
That makes them look safer, and FTC won’t shut them down. Just read the next section to understand what a pyramid scheme means.
Are You Tired Of Scams?
Is My 20 Dollar Travel A Pyramid Scheme
I feel like most people don’t understand the difference between an MLM company and a Pyramid scheme.
This is why I want to help you understand, and I include it at almost every review that I create.
The small difference between the Pyramid Scheme(s) and MLM’s is the retail.
A pyramid scheme focuses ONLY on recruitment, and it’s the only way for the company and distributors to make money.
An MLM sells products other than recruitment. Even if the company focuses very hard to recruit more people, and then the people recruit others.
That means that with an MLM system, you have more than 1 way to make money, and that includes the company also.
And if you say that “John, the company has travel discounts to sell also” let me tell you this.
The company indeed has travel discounts, but you can’t use them unless you are a Gold or Platinum member. This is a red flag.
Lastly, the compensation plan also looks like a pyramid scheme to me.
Please, don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that the company is a pyramid scheme. I’m just saying that it looks like one.
Is My 20 Dollar Travel Business A Scam
Let me begin by saying that the company is NOT a scam!
A thing that I would like to see is if they create a customer option that a customer can only buy the travel discounts he/she likes the most and pay for that, and people make money also that way.
I can’t say anything else about this company since it’s legit, but I believe they could improve a lot.
Lastly, I could show you if you’re interested in how I make money online with affiliate marketing. Just read the next section.
How I Make A Living Online.
The truth is that the Internet gave us access to many opportunities. Many people became millionaires from the internet, and many people make a full-time income online.
My favorite way to make money is affiliate marketing. The truth is that affiliate marketing can be very costly when we talk about paid ads, testing and etc.
So I found a way to create my online business (you read at my online business at this moment, and you read this) and generate a full-time income online.
So I actually created this website to help people avoid scams and show them something that they will actually own and make income from it.
This was when I said to myself that I would help as many people as I can.
To be honest, I wouldn’t have my business here and talking to you if the platform I joined almost 2 years ago didn’t show me how.
They have a step by step training, all the tools I needed, and they also have a like-minded community of 1.5 million members.
So what do you have to lose? It’s free to join, and no credit card needed.
I’ll do my best to help you, and when you join, I promise to send you a message and guide you.
